Pricing

One rate. Every model.

Pay exactly what the model provider charges, plus a flat 2.5% platform fee. No tiers, no per-model markup, no minimum spend.

Platform fee

2.5%

vs OpenRouter 5.5%

Applied to the provider's list price on every request, for every model.

  • No tiers

Every account, every model, the same 2.5% — whether you send ten requests a day or ten million.

  • No markup

You're billed at the provider's list price plus the 2.5% fee — never a hidden spread on top of it.

  • No minimums

No monthly plans, no seat fees, no commitments. Pay for what you use, billed per request.

How we charge

The 2.5% fee is constant, but what it's 2.5% of differs by model — we pass through whatever unit the underlying provider actually bills us in, rather than forcing everything into one shape.

Chat completion models

Charged by tokens — a per-million-token rate for input and (usually higher) output, with cached input billed at its own lower rate where the provider supports it.

Video generation models

Charged either by tokens (derived from the output video's resolution, frame count, and duration) or by output duration — a flat or resolution-tiered rate per second of video actually produced. Some providers bill both in the same request.

Real provider pricing, quoted verbatim

fal.ai — MiniMax Hailuo H3 (reference-to-video)

Billed by output duration, tiered by resolution, plus a flat per-image charge for extra reference inputs.

“Video costs $0.05 per second at 480p, $0.06 per second at 768p, $0.13 per second at 2K and $0.16 per second at 4K; the first 5 reference images are free and each additional image costs $0.08.”

ByteDance Seedance 2.0 (image-to-video)

Duration-based at 720p/1080p, but switches to token-based billing depending on the request — both units can apply to the same model.

“For every second of 720p video you generated, you will be charged $0.3034/second and for 1080p you will be charged $0.682/second. Your request will cost $0.014 per 1000 tokens for 480p, 720p and 1080p. Your request will cost $0.008 per 1000 tokens for 4k. The number of tokens is given by (height of output video * width of output video * duration * 24) / 1024.”

We try our best to reflect each provider's actual billing formula as precisely as possible in our registry, rather than approximating with a single blended rate. We're also working directly with API providers to push toward simpler, more consistent pricing across models. If pricing for a specific model isn't fully reflected on our site, please refer to that model's upstream provider for the most accurate, up-to-date rate.

FAQ

Is the 2.5% fee the same for every model?

Yes. Whether a request lands on a small open model or a frontier reasoning model — and whether you picked the model yourself or let model="auto" route it — the fee is always 2.5% of the provider's list price for that request. No per-model exceptions.

How is the 2.5% calculated and billed?

Each request is billed at cost — the exact price the underlying provider charges (per token, per second of video, or per generation, depending on the model) — plus 2.5% of that amount. It's itemized per request in your traces, so you can see the provider cost and the fee separately.

Do I need my own provider API keys?

No. VideoRouter holds provider access on your behalf, so you get a single API key and a single bill. If you'd rather bring your own provider keys, that's supported too — the 2.5% fee still applies to routed usage.

Are there monthly plans or seat fees?

No. There's no subscription, no minimum spend, and no per-seat pricing. You're billed only for what you use: provider cost plus 2.5%.
